Bill: Workers Involvement Act (2169)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Nationalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2172

Description[?]:

The workforce of Hobrazia should take an active intrest in their job and not rely solely on the government protecting their intrests. This bill will mean that union membership is compulsory so all workers will recieve updates from their particular union. The change in the union voting system will also reward those who do participate in union matters as now it will only take into account yes and no votes and not the number of members who vote yes compared to those who vote no or don't vote.

So this constitutes mandatory union voting according this description. Making union membership mandatory and rewarding those who participate in union matters is which in this case is voting, is really just a means to force unwilling non-union members who may or may not vote on a strike ballot, to join a union that they don't believe looks out for their best interest.

I don't see what this proposal hopes to accomplish.

MessageHow can being in a union that represents the industry a worker is in not be in his best intrest? This is not forcing workers to be in one large 'super-union' but to be in the individual government recognised union of their profession.

Message"How can being in a union that represents the industry a worker is in not be in his best intrest?" - If they disagree with the unions aims, e.g. if the union keeps pushing for strikes which they feel are not needed?
