Message | An overreach of the state on the part of the Left designed to force atheism on the pious. Opposed. |

Message | These proposals do not force atheism on anybody, they simply create religious and non-religious schools and introduce an element of regulation to ensure they're fit and proper. - Klemens Müller, ÖkoLinks Leader |

Message | Mr. Müller and the Watermelons would have us believe that atheism will not be forced on anyone, but the OL introduces here legislation that would require "strict" regulations on religious schools without ANY definition of what those regulations should be. Is a school a religious school if it is nominally Hosian but all aspects of Hosianism are banned by Watermelon or Communist censors? This legislation leaves no doubt that the Left actively opposes the right to religious freedom in the Republic. The Watermelons would further remove the freedom of schools and communities to decide what is right for their students and children and send a mandate from Merenburg forbidding teacher-led prayer. This is a dangerous precedent, and the NPN urges our colleagues to vote no. - Liesbeth Maessen, NPN Deputy Leader |

Message | "Strict regulations" do not make the schools any less religious, it simply ensures they secure adequate teaching standards. Religious freedom does not equate to forcing religion down the throats of others. It is hardly a radical idea to separate religious and non-religious schools and allow parents to decide which their children will attend. It is also apparent that already the Centrist party is a bunch of flip-flopping u-turners. In 3874-3875 they supported the "Religious Rebalancing Act" which included these two proposals - and more. They have tricked the electorate over what they stand for and are set to be gobbled-up by the monstrous theocratic nationalists. - Klemens Müller, ÖkoLinks Leader |

Message | "Strict regulations" mean nothing when those regulations are not defined, Mr. Müller! The Watermelons claim that we will require nothing more than "adequate teaching standards," but the offer no evidence that adequate teaching was ever lacking in the current schools, and, worse, they do not put any of this nonsense into law. It remains to be seen what they will "regulate" once they've got a few more seats in the Rijksdag! - Liesbeth Maessen, NPN Deputy Leader |

Message | Exactly! How do we know the teaching standard of these schools if there's no regulation to find out? This NPN spin machine has spun something that is quite mainstream and ordinary into something that appears tyrannical, it is a shame that the Centrists have fallen for this blatant propaganda. - Klemens Müller, ÖkoLinks Leader OOC: Sorry guys, but I have, for the most-part, always been a "minimalist" when it comes to playing this game. For example, like in this case, if I propose to introduce regulation I'll very rarely use the bill description to specify what that regulation is. I actually think I'm in the majority in doing this. I am no education expert nor can I be bothered researching into the nitty-gritty of religious education regulation policy. Apologies for being lazy. :P |

Message | OOC: I hoped that was the case rather than you expecting me to do research haha. |
