Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3887

Description[?]:

Party Leader,

It is out of necessity that I propose these reforms. Our military currently stands too weak and we must enable it to grow stronger and give it all the tools to succeed.

MessageDear Party Leader,

We recently banned land mines in our army. Those were causing harm to our current and future civilians and weren't necessary at all, given the status of our relationship with our neighbour. Furthermore, selling arms to only our close allies would just mean selling them to nobody, since we have no close allies and aren't at war with anybody. Some sectors of our industry could really suffer from those stances.

Finally, we don't have to keep a so large army. Having a part time army means that many of our civilians can be easily mobilised in case of a war, but also that they can be used for more useful things than guarding our borders against imaginary ennemies. It also means more money can be used to actually help our citizens to meet their needs.

Myself and the Social-Liberals strongly urge the Party to reject this measure.

Bongani KaAyanda,
Leader of the Social-Liberal Caucus
