| Herr Speaker, Current laws state that a individual can only be euthanized with the consent of the patient and a court order. Isn't it weird that a judge has to decide whether someone who isn't a criminal should live or die? We feel that a doctor is a better judge when somebody is in excruciating pain, which is why we propose to replace the court order with the consent of the treating doctor.
