MessageMr Speaker,

As the last budget was being drafted, I was proud to be part of a government which invested in the future of infrastructure in our country. Now it is time to ensure that the mobility that that infrastructure will create is extended to an international scale. To this end, this government proposes that this house endorse this treaty, which will provide for the harmonisation of international aviation standards to increase mobility and increase safety, while ensuring that all this is done in an environmentally responsible manner.

MessageMr Speaker,

we commend the government on this proposal and will gladly endorse it to ensure that our country retains an internationalist outlook and is aware of the importance of transnational infrastructural cooperation, which is both economically and politically expedient.
