Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, while we do not believe that Kazulia requires a large military and should retain a policy of neutrality on most foreign policy issues, it is unwise to scale back our military to a point where it is barely visible anymore. National security is a central government responsibility that should not be downgraded to "part-time" status. Currently, we have the absurd situation where the state assumes total control over arms supply, which is unnecessary, while not even deeming it necessary to maintain an standing army as most countries, even those with a similarly pacifist outlook, have. Privatizing the defence industry while maintaining a sensible policy on exports to prevent money-making with war is a great way to compensate for the recent cuts in military funding while using the remaining financial resources to concentrate on building a small, yet capable full-time army.
