Bill: Income Tax Proposal of March 3903
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3904
Description[?]:
The People's Populist Party propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Beluz Socialist Republic. This bill intends to completely overhaul all areas of taxation and by dong so keep Beluz fair and prosperous for the years to come. An increase in government spending, to stimulate the economy particularly in the areas of education and science and technology, is impossible without sufficient increase in revenue to balance off an increase in expenses. This is the only just way to keep Beluz moving forward while also keeping a stable budget and happy populace. Furthermore, the fact the current government insists on taxing the goods the poorest among us depend on for sustenance is beyond understanding. Considering the increase in revenue through the changes in income tax, the PPP proposes the abolition of this unfair and poverty-perpetuating tax. Lastly, in keeping with the PPP's strict stance against any and all sales tax, we propose that the luxury goods sales tax be brought down to 15 in the hope that eventually, government surplus can offset the cost of its complete abolition. An increase in the corporate tax rate is necessary to keep the government budget in the black and allow for a surplus that can be used to spur science and technology investment and higher quality of education. |
