Bill: Electoral system reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Party (NP)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3903

Description[?]:

Seen the legitimate increase of political parties in our Republic, we propose to rise the amount of deputies to give the people's more representatives of their vote. Also seen the small difference between regions we consider unequal to give an advantage to biggest regions, even if they are "bigger" for a bunch of people.

Message301 is the traditional number of seats Darnussia has always had. I don't think it's excessively small.

Plus, an even more important point is that if the seat numbers were ever to change, it should be an odd number to prevent deadlocks.

MessageDear colleagues,

I think the reference to deadlock refers to when each party or each coalition have 200 seats each in an assembly in which there would be 400 seats. The two forces would nullify each other. Still, such a situation is incredibly unlikely and we believe our country isn't so polarized as this description requires.

MessageI think we need more seats but as you can see The Communist Party still prefers the old ways.
