Bill: Nature Ownership Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Demokrat Konservativen Partei (DKP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3906
Description[?]:
It's simple : nature is there for men to take it. Animals are sentient beings, but they are not humans, so they shouldn't be protected by anything other than the mercy of their owners. We do not have to enforce pollution standards : putting a price on carbon will be enough to ensure we will not all die in our pollution emanations. And finally, whales are not so extraordinary animals as to have a different treatment as fishes. |

Message | All these four articles are great civic achievements of our party, so we will never agree with this bill. |

Message | Honorable Members, The bill does not consider that an unregulated market does not place a price on pollution- regulations such as they are are satisfactory to resolve such a market failure. A price on carbon dioxide will not affect the output of other pollutants, including such greenhouse gases as methane, which exacerbates global warming to a greater extent than carbon, or carbon monoxide, which has directly harmful effects on those who inhale it and is a product of many automobiles. Message | Dear colleagues, Then we could put prices on other polluants, no? If you find this unsatisfactory, we can revise our position. Patrick Millerm Spokesperson on Environment |

Message | An absolute travesty of a bill. |

Message | That is possible, but existing regulations produce the same effect and this proposal involves a small reduction in such regulation. Killing animals, for example, will have unforeseen effects on the ecosystem at large, something which cannot be priced by the market without ungodly amounts of knowledge. |

Message | Dear colleagues, Wait a minute, we are not talking here about killing endangered animals, only about killing nuisances and domestic animals without having to accused of anything (save destroying someone else's property). About pollution control, we should probably have explained more properly this provision, even removed it. Patrick Miller, DKP's Spokesperson on Environment and Tourism |
