Message | The NFP will not vote for or against this measure should it come to a vote. Polygamy is a matter which as far as we are concerned poses no real threat to society and is representative of how other parties consistently try to regulate morality when it is clearly evident that law does not make morality and morality should not make law. We reserve the right to vote in the negative at a future time. Sincerely, Education and Culture Minister Maria Zaragoza OOC: Add a proposal or this won't have any real effect on the country. |

Message | We thank the Minister for her comments. Given that the UPP believe that this is an important bill, and also that we would like the government to act in regards to this issue we have decided to amend the bill. There are areas of the country where this practice is of much concern. They should be able to decide themselves if they allow polygamy in their states. |

Random quote: "When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, 'Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!'" - Martin Luther King Jr. |
