Party members of Choice. It is like a coward you propose this when the seats in the Diet are'nt filled. If this goes through, we will have a civil war. |

It is also cowardly to vote in favour of arresting a man just because he proposed abolishing the monarchy! Trying to silence a republican voice. Also, the majority of seats were in favour of its abolishment even with the AAL in place, it's just that it needs 2/3rds to pass. Thus morally, the majority of people wants its abolition, it's just that due to constitutional protocols we were unable to enforce the will of the majority of people.

From | Conservative Party of Luthori | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: If this goes through I will be talking to moderation. Luthori is a very Monarchist country and most citizens would not support this change if we are playing realistically. This is a really low move by you, Choice. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: This is a very spoilt and childish reaction. It's the way of the game, it's democracy. If most citizens would not support its abolishment, then why are so many republican parties getting seats? Enough for at least a majority. Plus most players want to get rid of our monarchy. It makes for interesting RP. RP wise, we can state that the monarchy has become increasingly less popular, especially in the turn of the century. |

From | Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: the AI is'nt capable in reading parties eventual "republican" or "monarchistic" views. The AI has created a population with views on centralization, civil rights, ecology, foreign relations, government, market, military, molarity and religion. Not peoples view on the constitution. So the low move on "republican parties getting seats" is just a lame opinion. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: In that case, the AI also is incapable of reading whether or not the nation is monarchist or not. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: Okay. But also stating that Luthori is a very pro monarchist nation by that logic is also untrue. |

IC:
Mr. Speaker,
We urge all parties to oppose this legislation.
When Choice registers for elections every once and a while they always come to this Diet with a main objective of repealing our fair, independent Monarch. What Choice fails to realize and tell you is that a head of state that is independent, symbolic and enriched in Luthorian tradition is the best head of state for Luthori and every other nation in Terra for that matter. An elected head of state would be extremley partisan and will end up being elected with only the support of a certain amount of Luthorians rather than all of them. It is better if we maintain our monarchy that represents all citizens of Luthori rather than a foreign 'President', that only represents a select few.

From | Conservative Party of Luthori | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: Why would it have? It's in the game's wiring, nothing could have gone wrong. But Luthori is a Monarchist country, if you don't like it, leave. I'm getting tired of people coming in here and pretending it's some oppressed monarchist nation with a populist wanting a Republic, because it isn't like that. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: We have to disagree. The monarchy has been at least partially removed before, in game terms this shows that the monarchy is vulnerable. This it is pretty feasible that RP wise, there is at least almost a 50 50 split in monarchists and republicans in the nation, which IMO makes for more interesting game play. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: I'd beg to differ, it's closer to 50 50, maybe 40 50. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: Times change. Since the protocols were updated, new generations have been and gone. |

From | Choice | To | Debating the Creating a Democracy | Message | OOC: As I said, I think it's closer to 50 50 or so now. There's probably a growing republican sentiment nonetheless. |
