Bill: OOC: Enhancing RP

Details

Submitted by[?]: Arbeiderpartiet (Labour Party)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3965

Description[?]:

We would've all seen Alain's forum posts in opinion polling which, in my view, contribute significantly to the quality of RP.

I'd like to suggest that we all take on a set RP role which is not directly related to our parties in an attempt to spice up RP.

It's already been established who's going to take on the monarchy, and it's clear that Alain has no difficulty at all with doing opinion polls. I'd be happy to volunteer to do an annual economic update (economic conditions will not be affected by policy as we all have different views about the economic impact of policy).

What do we think? And who wants to volunteer?

MessageI will gladly continue to make up polling data every once in a while to enhance RP, provided that no one regards my numbers are biased or implausible.

I like the idea of having economic updates, it worked well back in Dranland.

Btw, are we going to have debates before the next election? We have quite a superb squad of leaders right now and it would be funny to see them face off.

MessageYour polling numbers are perfectly plausible. As for debates this time round, that seems like a good idea. Why not?

MessageAbsolutely, I'm on board for that. So I imagine that you'll be doing the debates ahead of the next election?

MessageAnd BTW, when I say economic updates, that means quarterly figures (released once a year) on the unemployment rate, inflation rate (year-ended), exchange rate between the kroner and the LOD (I think that everyone ignores the hard-coded exchange rates), official target interest rate and business/consumer confidence (with a figure of 100 representing the long-term average). I might also throw in a brief news story - you know, "Two crane operators killed in accident. Inadequate regulation blamed" (that should be like a red rag to Nordahl's bull).

MessageWill you be making questionnaires for us to fill in? I remember Alain doing that for a double interview with Juel and Granlund once.

MessagePhD candidate, studying political parties recovering from heavy electoral defeats. You didn't know that? I'm sure I told people in H&GS that I was one.

MessageWell my plans are to have everyone give me opening and closing statements, and I'll try and work out some nice format, some issues to have all 8 party leaders debate, maybe bring some leaders in for duels, I'll have a proper think this evening

MessageIt's a pity that I'm retiring Nordahl as party leader right now. She would have been fun in the debates. Perhaps I'll let Schausberger win the leadership just for the lulz.

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election.
