Message | Herr President, Binge drinking is one of the most worrying and - let's face it - costly developments in society today. I'm worried that an entire generation will increasingly fall victim to it if we don't do something about the regulations on alcoholic beverages. Sure, the law says alcoholic beverages can only be sold to adults. But when we don't know who sells them to whom, that law becomes frightfully difficult to enforce. That is why Folkepartiet is today presenting a bill to require all sales outlets to have a license, so that we can protect our children against under-age alcohol consumption more effectively. Message | Mr Speaker, we oppose this, as it creates unnecessary bureucracy for small businesses such as inns and shifts the responsibility for drinking to vendors, who cannot be blamed for whether someone consumes their products responsibly or not. Johan Theisen FV Parliamentary Leader |
