Bill: Defense Industry Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3916

Description[?]:

An act that encourages private investment in our national defense industry and privatizes most of services currently provided by the state in this sector.

Deregulates another industry which could prove a huge boon for investors and benefit the economic and social development of our nation. We encourage other parties to abandon their regulatory inclinations and open up Beluzia to a truly free market system.

MessageLC are concerned privately owned defence industries might pose a threat to individual freedom and welfare in the hopefully unlikely event of a military uprising. We cannot afford a second revolution that endangers our democracy.

However, we support the idea of abandoning the subsidising of the army. We will support any act that decreases the money spent in defence or any budget cut in that area.

MessageThe NFP's proposed budget last term drastically cut our government expenditures and I hope the LC takes a look at it. We agree that fiscal responsibility is a major priority which is the very reason that we propose this reform. It is irresponsible for a developed country like Beluzia to keep a crucial industrial sector tied back.

When we free up industry and unshackle its potential there is a relieving effect throughout society, which is what we hope will happen with this reform.

We assure the LC that paramilitary organizations are still very much against the law and would not be any more or less likely because of this policy change.
