Bill: Secondary Strike Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Citizens
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3916
Description[?]:
Libertarian Citizens believe any worker can support any other worker, just like any union should be able to support any other union, or give support to workers who are yet to organise themselves in a union. The current law seems to restrict and outline the way workers should protest. We propose a change to: Any trade union can go on a sympathy strike in support of other striking workers. |
Proposals

Old value:: Only closely related trade unions can walk out on a sympathy strike in support of other striking workers.

Message | Absolutely not. Workers have a duty to work, per contracts signed with an employer, and for this government to interfere in that contract and allow workers to strike out shared feelings would be irresponsible and contrary to what government's purpose is, which is to facilitate the individual's life and not control it. It only makes sense that workers who share some type of commonality, i.e. same industry or class of worker, should be able to empathize and strike. Extending the right of secondary strike action to all unions would be catastrophic and a violation of the social contract we keep with employers as well as with employees. |

Message | We might have to come up with Worker Seduction Course for Employers at this point. They seem to require a lot from the Law currently. |
