Bill: Commerce Treaty Withdrawal Act of 3929

Details

Submitted by[?]: Chauvinistisk Parti för Telamons (CPT)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3929

Description[?]:

We are a sovereign nation, and treaties like this are bureaucratic and dangerous by nature. Free trade hurts Telamons, as it takes away jobs and hurts local businesses.

The left-wing parties of Telamons should accept this because free trade is capitalistic by nature and only helps the super rich. Our party is not left-wing, and we do believe in capitalism, but we definitely think this is an area of unity between us and the liberals.

MessageHerr Talman, There's too god damn many socialists and anti-capitalists in Telamon. Where on Terra did they all come from?

MessageThese treaties are bureaucratic by nature. They restrict our legislature, and they stop us from making our own decisions. We will still trade, but we do not want foreign products coming in and monopolizing the market. Local companies are what makes our nation great, and we need to let them thrive.

Greg Peters, CPT director of trade.

MessageHerr Talman, Unfortunately there's no local companies in Telamon, as the socialists have nationalized everything except the Arms Industry. We would like to advice the CPT to acquire a general knowledge of Telamon.

MessageHerr Talman, we would ask from the CPT to prove that these treaties harm our economy.

MessageHerr Talman, we would like to point out that the fact that our industries are nationalized does not mean we do not have workers or production. The measures taken by our predecessors assures that our industry acts in favour of our people, and not of owners and investors.

MessageWe would like to respond to the Republikanera by saying that if there are no companies that are private, then why do we have these treaties? We obviously don't need them.

Second off, foreign goods will put our own companies out of business, and that will hurt jobs. It will definitely hurt our economy. Our question is, how do these treaties help our economy? A treaty that gives the legislature less power is unnecessary unless we need it, and we feel these treaties are more destructive than helpful anyways!

Greg Peters, CPT director of Trade.
