Bill: Organ Donation Act, 2172

Details

Submitted by[?]: Totalitarian Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2173

Description[?]:

Presently, citizens are able to request their organs be donated upon their death. With this method, many organs go to waste. Some citizens may not realise they need to give consent. Others may forget, and by the time consent is needed, it is too late.

The Totalitarian Party proposes the law be changed so citizens must request their organs are not to be donated upon their deaths. We feel any who are strongly against organ donation will register their unwillingness with the proper authorities. To ensure citizens are notified of the change, we also propose public announcements be made on radio and television.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
