Bill: "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Abolition Act of 3939

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Party of Luthori

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3940

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

The Imperial Diet already knows the Reformers stance when it comes to this issue, but now it is even more imperative that we pass this bill since the state of the Luthorian military is in complete disarray. According to a government published review there are barely enough military personnel to even defend Luthori's borders. Less than 50K men according to the report. I should remind the Diet that this was the report that was released and then quickly denied by the government afterwards.

Even with these low numbers, the military continues to kick out homosexuals from the military when they "come out", which I should add takes great courage to do so even in this tolerable age.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We will do it once every new mandate until it's passed. We don't see any issue with homosexuality, or gender when it comes to the military. The current policy is outdated and prejudice against gays.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I am certain that the Donovan Ministry will complete a more comprehensive review of our armed forces. Considering that Luthori has had very few audits of its military in the country's history, the report released under the previous government has paved the way for future reforms.
