Bill: Income tax proposal of June 3943
Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3944
Description[?]:
We have a 116,000,000,000 SOL surplus, and we can therefore afford a 116,000,000,000 SOL tax cut. It makes no sense to have this surplus, as we are just stealing from the people for no apparent reason. This tax code is a step in the right direction for various reasons. -It simplifies the tax code (though, we want to simplify it further) -it lowers taxes on the middle class and lower class and completely eliminates taxes for those who make less than 10,000 SOL per year. -It is something that the "lefties" and the "righties" can both agree on. Solentia has had a history of having large surpluses that make no sense. Let's end this tradition, and let's have a smaller surplus. Obviously, we don't believe in keynesian economics, and we do not plan on having a heavy deficit, but we do think that this reform is in the right direction. |
