| Mr. Speaker, I would like to allow time for debate in the Imperial Diet to discuss the matters currently unfolding in the Democratic Republic of Aloria. Reports of high tensions and protests between the centrist government and far-left militants may lead to a revolution. | Message | Mr. Speaker, I spoke to the members of the Alorian senate try and resolve the crisis. Here is the transcription of the speech. ----- Mr. President, Mr. Prime Minister, Mr. Speaker, Honorable members of the Senate, ladies and gentlemen of Aloria, I come before you today in the legislative building of one of the greatest nations in Terra. Aloria is rich in history and has been home to some of the greatest minds in history. As a home of democracy and freedom, people have prospered and the nation has been stable; however, lately there have been some deep ideological rifts between the center and the left. The current government wishes to represent the issues of the people. If the people have repeatedly elected them, they have a mandate to pursue their agenda. I have come to try and bring the parties in Aloria together. The shared interest between all of you is the prosperity of Aloria. Fighting will get you nowhere, and will only weaken Aloria. As an ally of Luthori, we believe we must work together to ensure our people live in happiness. That is why I will be standing with President Dylan Evans and the government in order to maintain order and protect democracy. I have received permission from the President to send 1200 Luthori troops to defend the capital, cities, and other important areas. We believe this is a necessary action. I hope the parties of Aloria will get past their differences and that the radical Left will understand that violence is not the way. | Message | Mr. Speaker, President Dylan Evans has made it absolutely unequivocal to me that he wishes for Luthori troops to assist the democratically elected government in Aloria. I have made it absolutely clear that if he is uncomfortable with the troop levels in Aloria, that he let me know as soon as possible so that I may best accommodate his needs. I, as Imperial Chancellor, have already made certain decisions because of the fact that Luthori maintains diplomatic relations with Aloria through the Artanian Union and through the Worldwide Treaty of Friendship with Aloria. As the Imperial Chancellor, I made a quick decision to send 1,200 Luthori troops to defend the government in Aloria. The quickness at which I ordered the deployment has resulted in numerous lives being saved. It has been reported in news outlets that an offensive launched by the anti-democratic, revolutionary militants have failed in taking over the capital or any other city. The revolutionaries were put down quickly because of the fact that our own troops were able to fill in the gaps left by the government forces in Aloria. As for the concerns raised by the gentleman from the Reform Party, I do not believe a declaration of war is necessary at this point, as the enemies in question do not control any territory and are not organized into a single entity; however, if such a thing as that were to occur, I would dutifully bring forth an official declaration of war to the Imperial Diet in order to acquire the consent of the members of this chamber. At the present time, I believe sending troops to maintain law and order is well within the jurisdiction of my office. Please understand that I do wish for fruitful discussion on this issue and I invite the opinions of the other parties in Luthori. That is why I have allocated time for debate. This is a serious crisis that threatens the national security of Luthori and the stability of Artania. As for recent developments, President Dylan Evans has asked me to send more troops to prevent further offensives by the revolutionary forces in Aloria. I have promised to send 4,800 troops to Aloria to maintain peace, stability, law, and order. The sooner we defeat the anti-democratic menace, the sooner our troops will come home safe and sound. I am proud to say that at the time of this speech, not a single serviceman or servicewoman has been injured or killed. I hope it remains that way. I yield. The Rt Hon. | Message | Mr. Speaker, I am here to announce that the mission has been accomplished in Aloria. The nation is regaining stability and the insurgent militants in the country have given up the fight. Once a new cabinet is formed, our troops will be coming home in increments in order to ease the transition phase. President Dylan Evans has thanked our country for assisting them in protecting democracy and freedom. In a message, I quote, "I would like to thank the government for their efforts to stop the rebels taking control of territory with Aloria. Thankfully, because of the 6,000 Luthori troops, most of the attacks have been combatted and resolved." With that, Mr. Speaker, I believe the Resolution isn't entirely necessary as our troop deployments will be decreasing by the time it has gone through the Imperial Diet. Nonetheless, I respect whatever decision the Diet makes and will execute accordingly. This is a wonderful day, and I thank all the Luthorian people for their resolve during this crisis. The Rt Hon.
