Bill: Arms Export Controls Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Socialist Party of Rutania
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3949
Description[?]:
An Act to give the House of Representatives the power to veto the export of arms to foreign powers. The current law, restricting the export of arms to close allies, is ambiguous and opinions may differ on what exactly constitutes a 'close ally'. By subjecting each deal to proper scrutiny, these problems can be avoided, and the position of the parties on each deal made known. We believe that this is a pragmatic and sensible piece of legislation that can find support from both left and right. |
