Bill: National Anthem

Details

Submitted by[?]: Yoko Kake Meguppātī

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3952

Description[?]:

The current anthem does not befit the dignity and glory of Sekowo, and also does not reflect our transition to Democracy. It is about a soldier saying farewell in the Indralan-Sekowan War. It sounds as though the soldier is crying, in tears and is going off to lose and be defeated.

But real Sekowans are strong, and do not lose, but rather win. We need an anthem that celeberates the wonderous land of Sekowo, and its greatness, not an anthem full of self-pity and meekness. For Sekowo, the future is not a time of saying goodbye and of parting kisses, but is one of a rising, fearless Sekowo greeting a new day! Sekowans are winners, not losers!

Random quote: "Those who are responsible for the national security must be the sole judges of what the national security requires. It would be obviously undesirable that such matters should be made the subject of evidence in a court of law or otherwise discussed in public." - Unattributed member of the the House of Lords on the removal of trade union rights
