| In the interest of finding issues on which constructive compromise can be found, we propose some legislation. We also wish to point out, that our own reluctance to some compromises does not constitute a hostility towards compromise per se as there are many ways of compromising. We also would like to emphasise, that compromise relates not only to parties finding a middle ground on some specific issues, but also finding a middle ground on a combination of issues, where everyone gets something and has to give in on something. Though this may not seem a compromise, as we would support compulsory organ donation this is a compromise. And we emphasise that under the proposed legislation no one will be forced to donate organs. The change merely means that as the public has a significant interest in the matter, the default option for citizens is to act according to the public interest. |
