Description[?]:
The Court of Shades propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Federal Republic of Lodamun. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr Speaker, For far too long Lodamun's citizens have suffered under the harsh tax rate of 65% forced upon them by the LPA party. We supported them in that endeavor under the agreement to restore the governments finances to surplus after past governments had nearly bankrupted us. However, the LPA used this as an opportunity to make large scale spending increases. The government is living it up large on our citizen's hard earned money. Well, no longer. Our alternative budget restores spending to more reasonable levels, allowing us to drop tax rates from the unreasonably high 65%, to the more reasonable 35%. This will maintain a healthy surplus of $8 Billion LOD, allowing the government to maintain its low level of interest rates. Mr Speaker, we are willing to thrash this out in parliament for as long as it takes, as we are sure that the other political parties will want to get taxes back to where they should be. Message | We, with respect to the CoS, are on the fence with regards to support for this bill. we understand the need for the lodamunese citizens to have tax breaks, but we don't usually like to see government spending go down, especially in areas such as education Stephen Lodamun PLUP President |

Message | Mr Speaker, We are more than happy to negotiate the location of the spending cuts, we could for example maintain Education and Culture, and reduce Science further, or make cuts in Defense/Justice We are less willing to negotiate the size of the total spending cut, but its still doable. We could reduce the spending cuts by a potential 7 billion, by reducing the surplus. This... is not our preference, but we are willing to negotiate in order to get the tax cuts over the line. Message | No need for that I will support this bill if education is maintained, education is the training of the future lodamunese citizens it should be at top of most important list for the government, as far as we are concerned. How you do that, might I suggest, reducing science and technology? If not, as long as education is maintained we will support Stephen Lodamun PLUP President |

Message | Mr Speaker, That is absolutely reasonable, and I will adjust the budget accordingly. (OOC: I'm going to wait until we have other parties make suggestions, as I think I'll need to make an entirely new bill to make changes on this) Jane Black Acting CoS Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, The LSDP will never endorse a proposal that harms the worker, as the absurd over 50% proposed cuts to trade and industry and agriculture do. We also oppose cuts to environment and education, and consider the proposed cuts to science and technology to be outlandish and unreasonable. We support a smaller cut to the top income tax bracket, but we currently have a comfortable surplus and this could easily be done without harming the nations finances. We will oppose this thoroughly unreasonable bill Ilyana Petrova LSDP Parliamentary Leader |
