Message | OOC: You have to be the finance minister in order to propose a budget bill. in character: "Now is not the time to try to reduce the government's budget deficit. We have 0% employment in 3 regions. Precisely because of our most recent increase in military spending, the economy has grown by another 100 billion SEK (http://classic.particracy.net/budget.php?nationid=55). If we reduce spending or raise taxes, GDP will drop in equal measure and Sekowans will become poorer. If anything, we should increase spending and/or reduce taxes further, which will stimulate our stagnating economy and increase GDP further. This is the core of Kodonomics, and Kodonomics is working to increase GDP and make Sekowo a more prosperous country. We also should not raise the retirement age, but rather should lower it so as to spread the jobs that are available more evenly around the populace, and to let Sekowans spend more time with their families." - Kodos Fairname |

Message | This is not a problem. It means that GDP is higher, and so Sekowans live better more prosperous lives. And it makes Sekowans wealthier, because they own more government bonds. As long as unemployment remains high and inflation remains low, we should maintain large budget deficits. If you try to cut them, GDP will fall and you will impoverish Sekowo. |
