Bill: Death Penalty Transparency Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Traditional Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3955
Description[?]:
The LPA has been clear about its desire to execute John Smith. After this they will no doubt come for other political enemies. We must ensure that these executions (really barbaric political murders) are not conducted in dark rooms hidden from view. If the LPA wants to kill its political opponents, we should force them to do it in public. Let everyone see their tyranny. |

Message | M. Speaker, If the TA ever actually read our debate contributions or the investigation details, they will know that we only stated that the death penalty was an OPTION alongside life imprisonment. This does not mean we would necessarily pursue the death penalty. The LPA has always been against the death penalty in principal. Terry Hawthorne Prime Minister |

Message | Mr Speaker, Despite the LPA no longer being in power (and Mr Smith's execution already having taken place) we continue to support this law. It will ensure that executions happen in a transparent fashion and also has the added benefit of posing a deterrent to criminals. We urge all parties to vote in favour. Andrew d'Arcy TA Leader |

Message | I don't think watching an execution is in the best interest of lodamunese children. Because of this, we will vote no to this Stephen Lodamun President of Lodamun |

Message | Mr Speaker, I urge the PLUP and other parties to reconsider. Of course access to this will be restricted for children. In face we will shortly bring forward a series of proposals to restrict access for children to a range of insppropriate material. We hope the PLUP will support us in this. We consider public executions important for government transparency and criminal justice. I hope parties will support these sims. Andrew d'Arcy |
