Bill: CoS Alternative Cabinet

Details

Submitted by[?]: Court of Shades

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3959

Description[?]:

We cannot in good conscious leave TA out from cabinet.

They helped protect the holy lands of the Shadowists from Nationalist invaders.

Therefore, we seek to give up our seats in cabinet to TA.

We urge all cabinet members to respect our wishes in this. This is hugely important to our party, and we hope you can support this.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We were prepared to support this cabinet proposal until we noticed it mentioned "Nationalist invaders" which offended my party. This fear mongering is unnecessary at this time.

If this parliament does indeed believe that the conflict between Shadowists and Nationalists has begun again, we would be disappointed if the Traditionalist Alliance chose to side with the Shadowists and defend the "Shadowlands" that hasn't even existed for a long time. We also wouldn't expect other parties to take sides.

That conflict is old, and needs to end.

MessageMr Speaker,

My party would be happy to make peace with the GNRG, and if what the GNRG is saying is true, and they are willing to make peace with the Shadowists, that is great news indeed and I would be willing to personally go down to GNRG headdquarters and make an accord with them.

But, and this is a big but, I am susicipious. Nationalists are nortorious for being intolerant to other religions, with the previous Nationalist regime making it illegal to practice any other religions. We Shadowist were forced to either practice in secret or flee to the mountains of the Shadowlands where we could be free from the Nationalists.

I would like to believe that this new GNRG have turned a corner and are better than their forefathers. But so far everything the GNRG have done is try and take us "back to the good old days", with region renaming and even their budget. Is anyone surprised that us Shadowists are worried that GNRG will come for our religion next?

I'm sorry, but I will need more than just words to believe that the days of warring between the Shadowists and the Nationalists are over.

MessageMr. Speaker,

calling a certain group intolerant because of their opinion seems pretty intolerant to me.

MessageMr Speaker,

Except I'm not. I am saying they are intolerant based on their actions.

The former Nationalist regime banned the practicing of other religions. If that isn't intolerance I don't know what is.

We will support all parties who seek peace, tolerance and government by consensus.

We do not pick sides in any dispute between the CS and the GNRG. Indeed we hope there is no dispute.

We thank the CS for looking to include us in cabinet - and we urge other parties to bring forward workable cabinets which include us, the largest party, should they wish. However we do not think that accepting these roles in this way would be appropriate. We will abstain.
