Message | Madam Speaker, The this bill seeks to remove economic freedom and the right to private industry from our nation. While the goal of economic democracy is admirable we feel that the state mandating said economic style is unlawful and contrary to a free economy and as such we the SSP can not support such action. Message | I would negate the idea that the WDA rejects the notion of "economic freedom". To discuss "economic freedom", we must first define these terms. economic: of, relating to, or based on the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services freedom: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action What you're attempting to define as "economic freedom" is the system of Capitalism, which I, alongside the Party of Labour, stand firmly against. Capitalism, time and time again, has shown itself to be a system of coercion and exploitation, and the recent shift by your Party back to capitalism evidences this. You have given employers the ability to fire workers who have simply demanded better terms of employment. You have removed the ability for workers to be assured that wherever they may be employed, they will have a voice in their affairs, whether those affairs be how to better serve the public or how to better manage their workplace. You have prevent workers in certain "critical sectors" the ability to legally take direct action whatsoever, much less to be able to do so without losing their jobs. By removing the assured right to go on strike and removing the assured right to a democratic voice within the workplace, the Sword and Shield Party has indeed contradicted the notion of economic freedom, taking away the ability for the broad working masses of Beiteynu to have true mastery over means of production and distribution. Message | Madam Speaker, The system of capitalism gives the power to the consumer if a person or persons do not like a product or the business practices of a producer. Then they are free to vote with their currency and affect change can through their economic choices. Your state enforced socialist regime lacks that type of freedom among other things. It also lacks private property and can be intrusive to people's lives. As for DWCs they are completely legal but, they are not forced upon anyone. With regards to Strikes they are not illegal and we belive that the collective right of the laborers to bargin is an integral part of the free market system. However, we also must ensure that services critical to the everyday society have at least some service regardless but, they still retain the same rights to bargin as everyone else. In the end it is in fact the Labor Party that contradicts economic freedom as they seek to remove the rights of private property and the economic practice of free market from Beiteynu. We at the SSP say let the people decide what is produced and what is not and it is not the duty of an overbearing government. Regards, Kyle Greenspan YSSP Member |

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire. |
