MessageWe disagree. Current regulation does not allow anyone (Not even the government or companies) to clone humans just as they wish. Cloned humans are biologically the same as a real human. Cloning is biology and any human that has been cloned has the same rights as a regular Homo Sapiens (Latin for Human). We´ve got the regulation to prevent any possible misuses (for profit gains, military etc.), but banning it is too far. We oppose.

MessageWhat do you need cloning for? What real use can it possibly have? We are really interested.

MessageWe could use cloning for creating embryonic stem cells, that have the same genes as you do and when a therapy with these stem cells would take place, your immune system wouldnt try to deter them. Your new embryo would have to be literally "destroyed", but you could get stem cells that can change into any type of cell you want/need, even neurons. This has an enormous potential and should be left to scientists (Which are regulated, so that they wouldnt misuse it for corporate or military purposes).

MessageCloning is a bit different from that what we see in movies.

MessageOh as a handicapped person I know this very well. And as a handicapped person i convinced the party that we would not allow human beings to loose their uniqueness. When you can clone people, or when you can articulate that you can heal all forms of handicap, the understanding for handicapped people is reduced in society. They ask why people are not beautifull and healthy in this modern times where you can have stem cell treatment. In the future a government without our glorious parties may reduce health care because of technology advanced possibilities. But whatever we do, there will always be handicapped people, there will always be people in need, and not everyone will be young, agile, fit, healthy, slender, beautifull and juvenile. If we begin this slippery slope towards usability of human beings, what will the future be?

I hope for an answer, before I put this act on for voting. Thank you for the discussion and your patience.

MessageWe can help handicapped people with stem cells, in fact we can help everyone. Neurons dont have Mitosis, they cant replicate. But with embryonic stem cells we can give people neurons. We could cure: Blindness, Hearing problems, Paralysis and so on. We could also cure other diseases. And a young human can hear about 20-20000 Hz, but adults and old people hear much less. We can cure this with stem cells.

Check the story of Darek Fidyka, though this is a spin-off topic.

Every human is unique indeed, but honestly we´re just a package of chemicals that perform complex functions.

But let´s get back to the topic.

"Therapeutic cloning" is the cloning technique that can be used for medical purposes. We can get important tissues and specific types of cells out of them.

MessageIt is not the point in which we disagree. But you said it: "We can cure everything!" But that's not true. There always will be different people, and if we allow to form a human being after the wishes of companies or scientists, and that is what happens with the cloning "of a human being", if we let this happen, we degrade people. When illness is - for the helth services and their statistics - no longer necessary, then you are urged to let your baby embryo be genetically engineered to be perfect. Is this the world we want to live in, where people have to be on the same level of perfection to be recognized by society? My fear is that cloning rouses intolerance.

MessageI didnt say we can cure everything.
Plus it is good if people are different, because higher genetic diversity allows a healthier population and a higher chance of survival in case of an epidemic. Cloning does not raise intolerance, it can be used for tissues that can save or improve your life. Genetic engineering of embryos is a completely different thing and is not related to cloning. I dont want everyone to be perfect, but we can give people a better life with this technology.

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators.
