| This bill proposes the creation of a Supreme National Security Council (Showrāye Āliye Amniyate Mellī) ("SAAM")a body charged with coordinating policy on national security issues and advising chief executives on matters related to national security. The SAAM shall consist of the following members - the President of the Republic ("the President") - the Premier - the Minister of Defence - the Minister of Foreign Affairs - the Minister of Internal Affairs - the Secretary of SAAM - the Chief of General Staff - the Land Forces Commander - the Air Force Commander - the Naval Force Commander - The Secretary of SAAM will be an an official appointed by the President. He/she will be charged with organising the agenda and technical details of SAAM meetings |
