Bill: Preventing Foreign Criminals and Terrorism Sanctuary Act of 2968

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic-Republican Party (DRP)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3970

Description[?]:

Current law states that "Anyone is able to claim nationality"
in the Democratic Republic of Solentia. However, current law also bars the government from extraditing anyone who is a citizen of our great state.

This can pose a serious problem for the Democratic Republic of Solentia. Criminals and terrorists who have immigrated to the Democratic Republic of Solentia for the sole purpose of dodging criminal justice in their country of origin should not have the ability to unilaterally claim nationality in the Democratic Republic of Solentia for the sole reason that our government is barred from extraditing anyone who is a citizen of our great state.

The Democratic-Republican Party wholeheartedly defends our current policy barring the government from extraditing anyone who is a citizen of our great state, so the Democratic-Republican Party is proposing to add a layer of regulation and control by amending our laws to require that immigrants pass a test to gain nationality. It will allow the government to review applications of citizenship and give the government the ability to extradite criminals and terrorists who try to immigrate to the Democratic Republic of Solentia to avoid prosecution in a foreign country.

This will increase diplomatic relations with foreign governments while keeping our citizens safe.

MessageThis is absolutely ridiculous. There are many people who are Solentians just because they were born here. I bet that most of them couldn't pass this test. I bet some senators (probably some of which from the SNC) can't pass the test. Therefore, this is just another anti-immigration policy that is xenophobic and disgusting.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Solentian Freedom Party should be reminded that this new law gives nationality to everyone who was born here. It is only for those trying to immigrate from other countries.

The SFP states that some senators couldn't pass a test, however they don't need to pass any kind of test because they were already born here.
