Bill: OOC: Changing the Flag

Details

Submitted by[?]: Choice

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3974

Description[?]:

Seeing we're changing everything else, we think it'd be most appropriate to change the national flag as well. Even if it's just a subtle change I think a change is necessary due to the changing of everything else. Plus our current flag is very royal, very imperialist looking. Here's one of my proposals:

Thoughts? If you think there's a better flag we could use, do please feel free to post it.

MessageMr Speaker,

Thus revolution is summed up "seeing we're changing everything else, we think it'd be most appropriate to change the national flag as well". No suggestion that this makes anything better or represents Luthori better, just the simple line that we might as well change the flag as we're changing everything else. The sad confused mind of a revolutionary.

MessageOOC: Due to changing everything else I think it's necessary to update the flag, at least in a very minor way which could include adding a yellow boarder around the edges of the red cross, or something similar. I shall work on more designs.

MessageOoc: Seriously same points stand as the IC, you're changing it for no real reason and our first proposal is basically the same flag, wtf?

MessageOOC: I'm supporting changing the flag as well as it makes SENSE. Usually when a nation changes its official name, it usually also changes its flag to some capacity as well. If anything I'm trying to keep a nod to the past whilst also updating it.

And here is my second (more traditional) proposal:

MessageMr. Speaker,

We would like to remind these so-called revolutionaries that even with this new flag the great seal of this nation is still front in centre on the flag. Let this be a reminder to all Luthorians that the monarchy is merely entering a stage of interregnum and this republican experiment will end soon enough.

MessageMr Speaker

The original seal was kept as a nod of respect to the past whilst the new accents of the flag move onto the future.

Random fact: Whilst the use of non-English languages can be appropriate for nation names, party names, constitutional titles and other variables, English is the official language of communication in the game. All descriptive texts and public communications should be in English or at least appear alongside a full English translation.
