Message | OOC: I am opposing because a) Three elections in such a short period of time is ridiculous; b) The NDP will win the presidency again; c) This will just produce another NDP-Federalist government and keep it in power for even longer; d) It will prevent all the bills being voted on from passing/failing and cause a backlog in legislation. I can only see this as an act of opportunism on the NDP's behalf. They know my party's visibility has deteriorated recently and they know that another election will throw out the same result. At least allow the bills currently being voted on to pass/fail, or at worst, the ones which are due to pass/fail in February (it is now December). |

Message | "Mr. Speaker, I present the Senate with a compromise. If the NDP and Federalists agree to postpone these early elections until February 3973, enabling flagship policies such as the Public Works program to pass, the Communist Party will change its vote in relation to the "Amendment: National Senate of the Federal Republic of Hutori" and thus enabling it to pass." Message | Mr. Speaker, I agree to the compromise presented by Senator Butcher of the CPH, but would first like to bring up a quote I found particularly relevant to the current discussion. Terry Farmer of the CPH said earlier this year that "The intentions of the NDP could not be more clear: to cling onto power at all costs. They block early elections which will leave hundreds of thousands if not millions of Hutorians unrepresented". Is this not exactly what the CPH had intended to do here? Why wasn't the fair representation of 'thousands if not millions of Hutorians' enough to get you to support this election? We will agree to your compromise, but this event has shown that the Communist Party is no less opportunistic or conniving than any other party. Tyler Osman Chair of the NDP |

Message | "Mr. Speaker, I would like to remind Senator Osman that Senator Farmer is the former General-Secretary of the Communist Party. Senator Farmer resigned from his position 6 months ago and since then the party has reviewed its policies and refreshed its manifesto. The Communist Party shadow cabinet has been drastically reshuffled and new Senators have replaced old ones. In short, the Communist Party of Hutori under my leadership will look to be more co-operative with other parties in order to reach agreements on key issues. If the NDP and Federalist Party consistantly achieve such positive election results it appears this reform of our legislative chamber has considerable public support." Message | OOC: As it is now January votes can now be switched. That is if you still want early elections. |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
