MessageThis is pretty useless, as we will veto this bill once it hits parliament.

GM Crops are an investment for the future. No one has proven a connection between negative effects on one's health or the damage to the environment yet, while many crops we currently are already modified to be resistant against diseases and climate issues, thus helping populations in areas with for example a famine.

MessageInterfering in genes can have really bad consequences which have to be researched on before and we think that this is not ready yet. Such complex stuff like gene is a grand risk when we don't know enough. Better being double sure then not, even if there are already many things we know about it.

MessageAnd this bill is just because of your bill.

MessageBut who says that people aren't researching it yet? We have a lot of foreign countries who do already research GM crops and many other countries even sell GM Crops! Research has already been done and it hasn't caused the mass extinction of humanity yet, which is why we want to take the next step!

MessageThis bill is for the research. We should only not sell them yet for reasons which were explained before. As it was just said the research on this is not ready yet. Genes are too complex and this is a risk.
By the way some people are also thinking of the etic points: Should we really interfere in nature? - and so on.

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn
