Bill: Council of Ministers Proposal of Yada yada.

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvik Föderalistischen Pakt - DFP

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3977

Description[?]:

OOC: Let's open a discussion: if we reflect upon the RP situation, the old establishment could be a little worried about the radical changes in the political rapresentation; considering that issue and the need of stability for the country we could create a Council of Ministers with the military establishment rapresented by a moderate, expression of the SNP, as a political compromise.

Assuring this seat in the council of ministers to the SNP and the role of Nationmaster to Farsun, we could create a balance of powers that could respect the RP course of events, assuring in the meantime the right of expression for all the political forces in their political platform

There is also the issue of the local governments....

IC: Ministry of Communications and Mass Media - DNL
Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Developement - SNP
Vice- Chancelor of State: DNL & DRP

MessageI would prefer Internal Affairs and Defense, the two go hand in hand and the Dorvish Ministry of the Interior is incredibly important outside of Dorvik as well.

To note, you also should rename this as Council of Ministers Proposal of Yada yada.

There's also 3 positions you are missing. Ministry of Communications and Mass Media, Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Developement (a position I would like as it's heavily tied with our foreign RP power) and Vice State Chancellor.

MessageInternal Affairs and Defence are ministers very very influential if we combine them ( SNP would also have the position of Head of State): too much power to the old establishment, in our Party's opinion. A good solution could be the presence of a "specialist" SNP minister as Defence Minister ( OOC: we insist on the necessary RP characterization of the Minister as a "moderate" and a specialist figure, maybe with an academic and not only military background ) and in addition the presence of a SNP Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development ( OOC: maybe a good RP hint could be the appointment of an experienced bureacrat as minister). In this way the SNP could rapresent in the new Council of Ministers the voice of the military and bureaucratic tradition.

The Ministry of Communication and Mass Media in our opinion could be a good seat for the DNL , while we are willing to propose a dual Vice-Chancellorship for both Dorvische Reformitische Partei and DNL.

MessageThe Ministry of the Interior assists vast overseas resources in capturing criminals and terrorist abroad, our commitments with the Interior Ministry are essential to our continued power overseas. While the two combined might appear to be powerful, they are in-fact not "crazy" powerful together. It would enhance the ability of the Dorvish state to operate as previously before with much change which I am afraid, we might see here.

(OOC: To boot, there is no "moderate" figure in the Dorvish military, they are Prussian-style officers. They aren't these radical, fanatical militarist who just go around wanting to blow up countries. They are often RP'd as pragmatic and have realpolitik at their central core.)

Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development is essential as it manages vast overseas funds and ensures that the Dorvish investments stay afloat. We've been currently working on several deals to ensure a greater return on our investments. Notably, the State Railways investment in Talmoria.

MessageOOC: "moderate" could also mean pragmatic, for a military officer. We could approve a candidate RP'd as a strong pragmatic with also an academic BG, prussian-style officers could have this BG, I suppose...maybe a Professor at the Military Academy, this sort of thing.

Defence, Interior and Cooperation are an impossibile combination, too much power on the RP of the Nation, combined with the task of Nation Master. We are roleplaying a strong shift of power in our nation, with the end of the SNP monopoly on the political landscape, and we ask a fair compromise that can assure a stronger role for the new political forces.

Tha task of Nation Master exists also in order to assist the roleplayers in their actions...so, Farsun, you could assist the other parties in the Roleplay. giving them the chance of enjoying their game. In order to achieve this objective, a compromise that respects the strong result of the elections is necessary, the old establishment can have the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Cooperation, the Nation Master would support the new party in charge of the interior affairs.

MessageWe could not support a Nation Master that combines political powers on Interior Affairs, Defence and Cooperation with a role of guidance in the Roleplay of the Nation as a referee, we are not in a regime of political monopoly anymore ;) let's find a compromise.

If you want the role of Nation Master, let the other parties have their fair share of political powers.

MessageNationmaster isn't an IC position, its an OOC position. The two don't even touch each other. It's more of the spiritual guide for the nation...

MessageThey surely touch each other, if the Nationmaster is a player IC. They are strongly linked with the influence of a single player on the direction of the nation. Our position is clear: we need a compromise.

MessageNo, the position is OOC but if you wish to link the two, incorrectly I might add, then sure, they can be linked.

I'll take defense and economic cooperation and development.

No problem.

Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson
