Bill: Retirement Age Adjustment Act 3979

Details

Submitted by[?]: Choice

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3979

Description[?]:

Currently the retirement age is at 65. However we believe to tackle youth unemployment and to not make people work for too long, the retirement age should be set to 60. With all the illnesses that can claim lives at around that age, and the fact that so many jobs are needed for young people with older people who would prefer to retire unable to do so, we believe it makes perfect sense to lower the retirement age.

This is ridicolous. Is the Choice trying to scrap experience and wisdom in society??

I yield.

No, because people in their 50s still have experience and wisdom, we shouldn't be forcing people to work for so long in their lives. Many people don't even make it past 70, they'll have had barely any life to themselves.
