Message | Mr. Speaker, This bill exemplifies the priorities of the royalist movement. They are not concerned about pressing issues such as social and economic inequality, they are not interested in raising living standards and they don't care about workers' rights. They only thing they care about is elitist pomp and ceremony - they are completely out of touch with the general public. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, As our system currently provides no additional political rights to nobles, we see no harm in allowing this to pass. Our party understands that there are those in this country who wish to see the return of the monarchy and, while we will oppose any legislation which directly undermines the republic, I have determined that this bill does not. This will have the NDP's support. A word, though, on the phrasing of Article 2.1 -- Perhaps it would be wise to specify "any party with seats in Senate"? There are many transitory political movements who appear, then fall off the map a few years later. Under the current phrasing, they would be granted a seat as well it seems. Message | Mr. Speaker We find it ironic that the Communist Party harps to us about our priorities when the Communist Party themselves, who have Federal Representation have not introduced any sort of bill or initiative promoting Social or Economic equality or raising the standard or living. For a party that claims to be in favor of worker's rights they'd know that Hutorian Federal Law is already almost entirely in favor of the Worker as is. Regardless this isn't the place to discuss this. This is a matter entirely on the matter of this, ignoring ideological jabs and claiming we are elitist based on a single Bill when we don't even have Federal Representation to actually aid the people of Hutori. Message | OOC: So in the past 15 game years (a relatively short time period) I have proposed: Wage Equality Act Democratic Economy Act Non-Racial Immigration Policy Act Fair Union Ballots Act Trade Act Development Aid Act Child Labour Abolition Act Humanitarian Aid Act Economic Sovereignty Act Development Aid Act That's a lot more legislation focused on tackling economic troubles than your partners any of the other parties during the same period. |
Date | 14:24:02, February 07, 2016 CET | From | Liberal Party of Hutori | To | Debating the Bill R-1: National Honours Act |
Message | OOC: That means the last one you actually made about either of your point was the Child Labour Abolition Act, which while commendable means you haven't actually brought up ANYTHING about social or economic equality in Hutori since October of 3968, over a decade... which was ultimately my point. were you bringing them up before, absolutely you did... but the point of my IC ribbing was that you were attacking me for it when you hadn't lifted a finger since the last National Senate reforms went into place to do it yourself. And no I don't count the last three because two of them were simple about increasing our foreign aid which really doesn't help our own "economic troubles" at home and the Economic Sovereignty merely removes us from the International Terran Bank... which doesn't dictate financial policy like the KFS Treaty did. However moving on |
