Message | Mr Speaker: I would like to address this newly formed committee on the status of the Augustan language to thank the House for opening debate on what we, in the NNA, believe is an important issue. The Augustan language has long played an important role within our country. Some 59% of our co-citizens speak this great language as their mother tongue. And yet, the legal status of this language appears to be murky. We open this committee with several concerns, and several important areas for consideration: We are concerned about the economic role of Augustan in this nation. Many Augustan speakers are denied work in some large and medium sized organizations, as these companies operate outside the language of the majority. We are concerned about the role of Augustan in education. Many newcomers to our nation don't learn Augustan nor attend Augustan schools. Augustan speakers in areas where Augustan's form a minority face precarious school situations - many young students in these areas lack access to Augustan language schools. We are concerned further by precarious access to public services in Augustan in regions where Augustan speakers form the minority. And lastly, we are hopeful that this House can establish a language framework that will advance the Augustan language while affirming our multilingual identity. Which is why I ask this house to consider legislation on the following: -Legislative requirements of business to operate in Augustan -Legislative statutes to promote and protect education in Augustan -Legislation to ensure access to services in Augustan in minority communities -Legislation to provide status to Augustan as an official language of Zardugal One this last point we also ask special consideration to establishing a system of a multilingual state, recognizing multiple official or recognized languages. In such a case, consideration of a system of which languages require status and where these languages shall be granted status should be made. Leader of the NNA Nikolao Anastasio Periklio |

Message | We believe that we need mandatory Augustan language classes for all citizens and we propose making it a requirement for all government employees to fluently speak Augustan. His Majesty, Regent of Zardugal and Prime Minister, Abe Dickinson |
