Bill: Prostitution Reform Act 3981
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3982
Description[?]:
Currently prostitution is illegal. However we believe it should be legalised. We also believe that there should be a state monopoly on prostitution, as some prostitutes may carry harmful STDs/STIs which could potentially permanently ruin a clients life, and adds too much risk to prostitution. If there is a state monopoly on prostitution, then that means only prostitutes with no STDs/STIs are "endorsed" by a singular governmental firm and clients know that these prostitutes are safe. We also believe that this is a safer option for the prostitutes themselves as better government regulation can keep them safer too. Prostitution no matter its legality will always occur, the best we can do is to try and keep the vast majority of prostitutes and clients as safe as possible. If left under current conditions, prostitutes will still operate, illegally and there are more risks for everyone like this. |
