Bill: Open/Clossed Shop Reform Act 3981

Details

Submitted by[?]: Choice

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Description[?]:

Currently closed and union only shops are legal. However we believe this is utterly wrong and a form of discrimination. We believe that open shops should be the only allowed shops.

MessageMr. Speaker,

How can any socialist party vote to take away these powers? The HSP has worked hard for unions to achieve these rights, we will not let them go without a fight to the bitter end!

We are a social-democratic party yes, but we use common sense and fairness as our main driver of policy; we don't simply agree to something merely because an ideology commands we do, we don't pander to extremes like your party. By your logic, what kind of socialist party has far-right social policies?

MessageMr. Speaker,

Need I remind the Choice leader that Socialism is an economic policy. Our party is only conservative on social and moral issues. Perhaps the Mr. Maisey could learn a thing or two by brushing up on his economic and political theory.

We are aware of the existence of right-wing socialism, however we were using your logic of "all socialist parties must be in favour of this". Perhaps Mr Reeder had better improve his communication skills a little.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We respect Choice's difference of opinion on this matter for they have been consistent in their opposition to anything but open shops. We are, however, most disappointed with the changes of opinion with the SDL and LPP, they were instrumental in allowing closed shops and agency shops in the first place! http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=460628

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current.
