Bill: Amendment to the Constitution
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kommunistiskt Världsparti (KVP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3985
Description[?]:
We wish to make an amendment to the constitution, as we feel Telamon simply has too many seats to give, therefore we wish to lower this number. We picked the number 239, because it is still a large ammount of seats, but it's also a number that makes it impossible to have two coalitions with equal seats, unlike 750. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The total number of seats in the legislative assembly. Should be between 75 and 750.
Old value:: 750

Message | Mr. Speaker, Over the history of the Församlingen, the number of members of parliament has varied for assorted reasons, with increases in recent years due to increases in the population of the Telamons. There are currently 750 constituencies, each sending one MP to the Församlingen, corresponding to approximately one MP for every 132,825 citizens of Telamon but if we reduce the number of MP's then, there would be only one MP for 416,815, that means not only each MP's have to serve larger areas and more number of citizens also citizens will have lesser representation of themselves in Församlingen, hence we oppose such a move, thank you. Mrs. Alma Norberg Leader of House for Telamons Nationell Kongress |
