| Mr. Speaker On March 23rd, 3995, I received a letter. The letter was from an elderly woman whose orphaned grandson had been given a vaccine. Up until that day, I supported mandatory vaccines. The letter read, "Dear Mr. Clover, My name is Olivia Watson, and I write to you with terrible news. Three months after taking a mandatory vaccine, my grandson started showing signs of mental and physical disability. I am opposed to vaccines, as I believe the human body can handle most illnesses naturally. I took him to a clinic and they diagnosed him with cerebral palsy. They concluded this was most likely a side effect of the vaccine. My grandson can no longer walk, and has trouble speaking. I ask you to stop mandatory vaccines in this great nation of ours so no other parent or relative has to sit through what I did. I knew I opposed vaccines, and I knew it was a law, but I can't help but feel it was somehow my fault. Sincerely, Olivia Watson" Mr. Speaker, I believe that no other person should have to experience what Ms. Watson did. She was forced into something she opposed, and her grandson paid the price. | Message | Mr. Speaker, I am absolutely appalled that Chairman Fertig would accuse a loyal citizen of lying! About her ill grandson no less! This woman has had no incidents with the government in the past, why would she start now? How would the Ministry be informed if this is the first case? I would like to inform Chairman Fertig that everyone has different genetics and that everyone's bodies respond differently to certain substances that are consumed by the body. Maybe it was the combination of the grandson's DNA with the substances in the medication that caused. This could be the only case we ever have. I still hold the belief that everyone should have a choice to whether or not they want their children to take certain medication or vaccines. The parent, not the state, are the guardians of their children! |

| Message | Vaccinations have saved more life's than they ever endangered. And that is the truth, regardless of Ms Watson telling it or not. If we start letting civilians "Opt out" of necessary treatments, because they dont think mandatory vaccinations are cool. Diseases that could have been easily been wiped out, and those that were, will return and cause even more chaos then they should. Quality of life will go down, our lodamunese citizens will be vulnerable to old diseases, and new ones alike, and it will spread like wildfire. And before you know it we have an epidemic on our hands. We must have vaccinations, regardless of whether or not the population wants it. It is there to help them. James Lodamun PLUP President |
