Message | Mr. Speaker, How did "the church" get into this? There are currently no recognised religions in Lodamun which have churches. The current laws, which this bill would change, have absolutely nothing to do with the Hosian church, or any churches. -- Joshua Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, Minister of Trade & Industry, Vice President of Lodamun |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I disagree. In June of 3529, the GNRG proposed a bill that would allow them to convert Hosian churches into "Churches of the State". Does this not mean that Lodamunese Nationalism incorporates some form of a church? Elizabeth Williams, DSPL Chairwoman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We believe Elizabeth Williams refers to this bill: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=389248 That was a manipulation of the Hosian church itself, not the incorporation of Hosian institutions into Lodamese Nationalism. The intention was to make the church subservient to the state while they still existed, and then convert Hosians into Lodamese Nationalists. Note that the bill stated that "The state appoints all heads and other ministers of all religions" which is not like our most recently-passed statute on Lodamese Nationalism where "The state appoints the head and ministers of the state religion, but does not intervene otherwise." The state had control of churches then, not as a part of Lodamese Nationalism, but recognising that Hosianism would still exist even after the government mandated membership in another religion. The government took control of the church to destroy it. Lodamese Nationalism has always been anti-Hosian and anti-church. Understand that bill in context, please. In 3722, churches were labelled as "Hosian nests" and the government began to actively destroy them:http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=57&p=76050#p76050 This pressed on into the mid-3720s: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=57&p=76274#p76274 -- Joshua Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, Minister of Trade & Industry, Vice President of Lodamun |

Message | Mr Speaker, We support some liberalisation of the blasphemy law but we reject any attempts to completely secularise the Lodamese state as our national religion is an important part of our national identity and should be promoted. Brian Hinn NLA Chairman |
