Message | OOC: You know SCP I'm getting pretty sick of everything you propose going straight up to vote, I know some of the others do as well (that is proposing and posting straight up, not sure if they're getting annoyed or not) but I've just been watching this and in about 30 min's you've proposed roughly three/four bills all of which have gone straight to vote. The whole point of this game is to attempt to pursuade people to your view of the world. That and I think we do have a rule somewhere in this country that a bill has to be up for about one game month. PPP, PAL help me out here, I think it was when Knootoss was about and we had problems. As in big, huge, gastronomical problems for those who don't know what was going on. |

Message | What's the point of debate. I don't compromise; so it might as well go straight up for a vote. |

Message | ooc: yes, there is a rule that all parties have a chance to discuss a bill before it goes up for a vote |

Message | ooc: and if you can't compromise, whats the point of a multi-player political game? You should try despotism instead... Civ IV maybe? |

Message | Yes indeed. Civilisation lets you be the total ruler for around 6000 years! I would agree with the PPP and NMRP on this. In general I would leave all bills for a reasonable time to be discussed. Several game years would be good, although half a year is acceptable. There are obviously exceptions to this, for instance squeezing a bill like the formation of a constitutional monarchy in before the next election - issues such as this have obviously been discussed in great detail and it tends to be a very black and white issue for parties. |

Message | OCC: Personally I try to keep the bills I create in debate for one or two days real time. This allows people to debate and for me to get a general sense of my support. My main concern is the fact that some people can list 10 bills at once while I'm only able to get 2-3. I just hate it because I have less bills posted so that even if most of mine pass I still lose seats due to the large amount that other people create. I'm not asking anyone to change their play style to suit me. And I'm glad I've been able to contribute as much as I have. It's just a general sense of frustration for me. |

Message | IC: Child benefit actually helps parent's raise their children because it provides them with support and resource they would not normally have. |

Message | None of you still have answered what the point of debate is? Don't you instantly know whether or not to support a bill based on your political philosophy? I am a Capitalist with my politics being pure Capitalism. Therefore I am either create a bill that is purely Capitalist in nature or I am going to vote a bill based on whether in moves in the Capitalist direction or away from it. I have no idea (or care) why everyone else is playing this game, but my reason is to see how fast I can create a free society from the near dictatorship you guys originally had. |

Message | And by the way, I don't care about ruling this Republic, but I am very competitive and want to crush all of you. That's why I was always good at Monopoly to--I'm not inclined to spare others "feelings" to my detriment. |

Message | "Don't you instantly know whether or not to support a bill based on your political philosophy?" On some bills yes, and on others no. "...my reason is to see how fast I can create a free society from the near dictatorship you guys originally had." Near dictatorship? This has to be the most democratic dictorship ever then. "... I am very competitive and want to crush all of you..." Never going to happen. |
