Bill: The deputy speaker(s) of parliament
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party of Hobrazia
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4001
Description[?]:
The deputy speaker is the assistant to the main speaker and like the main speaker, chairs debates and keeps all parties in order when debating and maintains the respect and justice which is expected inside the House of Commons. The deputy speaker doesn't have to be played by the same party as the main speaker and there can be up to three deputy speakers at a time. This means if there is a problem during a debate when the party of the main speaker is offline, we can still act to bring justice to those who abuse our parliamentary system. HOW HE/SHE IS ELECTED: 1) The deputy speaker(s) is appointed by the main speaker who is elected if the speaker feels it in the interest of parliament. 2) The party of the speaker must announce on a bill the appointment of a deputy speaker and vote on it. There must be more Yes votes than No votes. 3) To be considered for the role, your party should message the speakers party and you will probably be successful in your request. 4) As with the main speaker, there can be a vote to sack the deputy speaker if they do not attend to their duties in the way that is expected. THE POWER OF A DEPUTY SPEAKER: The deputy speakers do not have the same punishment power but MUST be shown the same respect as they have the same authorities in a debate: 1) a formal warning 2) a second warning and the party leader will be named who is being punished 3) a small ban from debates, between 5-25 minutes 4) a reporting to the speaker These punishments are given the same way as the main speaker does it. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN A DEPUTY SPEAKER CHAIRS THE DEBATE? you will know that a deputy speaker is chairing a debate usually as the party of the main speaker will say something along the lines of "As the speaker it is my intent to announce to this House of Commons that the deputy speaker of [party] shall now chair this debate and all others until I say otherwise" If the party of the main speaker is offline then always say instead of mr speaker, say Mr deputy speaker as it will be presumed that if the deputy speaker party is online that he/she is chairing the debates until the main speaker arrives. |

Message | Mr speaker, We don't have to have any more than 1 deputy speaker. Three would only be given if there were 8 parties. It just means that we can deal with issues when the main speaker is not available. For instance if my party is not in the debate and is offline, then if your party held deputy speaker position then you could chair debates. So I want to clarify that we would only need 1 deputy speaker at this time and it should be the Kushites that Ho,d the position! |

Message | Mr speaker, I thank the Kushites for allowing me to explain and I know that they would have a perfect candidate for deputy speaker if they so wished to be elected |

Message | Mr Speaker, We agree with the main points of this proposal, but we would like to propose that the Deputy Speaker must be a different party than the Speaker. This would ensure some degree of fairness in debate and the running of our country. |

Message | Mr speaker, That's exactly what we are saying. If your party wants to apply for the job of deputy speaker then feel free to do so! The conservatives cannot as we hold the position of the main speaker |
