Bill: Agrarian Reform - 4003
Details
Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 4003
Description[?]:
We did not address the question of farmers and rural affairs during our massive economic reforms. Wealthy farm owners are laughing at the farm workers who they exploit. One man or family should not own a massive farm that they cannot work on. What they usually do, in such a case, is to hire labourers to work for them. These labourers work, and the owner(s) of the land profit without doing any work. There are also some state-owned farms that have become inefficient. We can break them up, and give them to the people. The government should redistribute arable lands to persons who are willing to work on them. The workers should be the owners. This will be an incentive for the workers to produce as much as possible on the farms they own. We democratised the urban economy by giving control to the workers; let us democratise the rural economy as well. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The days when a wealthy landowner can exploit a real farmer must end. In Lodamun, "farmer" must mean a person who farms, not a person who owns a farm. The Presidium voted to democratise the urban economy, and we ask fellow MPs to support this motion to democratise the rural economy as well. -- Joshua Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We thank the Democratic Socialists for supporting this motion. On the other hand, we are very disappointed that the ruling Social Democrats would vote against this bill without providing any reason or explanation. We are not saying that they are obligated to provide a reason, however it would make sense if they did. If they do not provide a reason, we would be left to believe that they have no real reason, and that they just oppose the bill because the GNRG is the author. -- Joshua Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |
