Bill: LUP: Court Reform Act, 4008

Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Unity Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 4009

Description[?]:

WHEREAS:

- The current administration of law creates unnecessary and complicated bureaucracy enabling a double system of courts with little to no benefit

- The current right to appeal is an inefficient and inexcusable waste of court time and resources, placing some petty causes above other serious court matters

THEREFORE, THE SENATE AFFIRMS THAT:

1. There shall be one uniform system of courts across Likatonia deemed "Likatonian Courts."

2. Likatonian Courts shall rule on any matter and any scope of matter, provided that the court deem the application worthy of judicial review.

3. Likatonian Courts shall hear cases dependent on the location of the prosecution or applicant.

4. An appeal may only be awarded by the Minister of Justice, with the following standards:

4a. An appeal must be awarded on any case involving the death of an individual.

4b. An appeal must be awarded on any case involving corruption, misuse of government funds, or other alleged government illegality.

4c. The appeal must be awarded to a separate Court from the original deciding Court.
