| WHEREAS: - The Likatonian Armed Forces should not discriminate those willing to serve its country or belittle their ability to do so based on gender or sexual orientation - The Social Republic of Likatonia affirms that any citizen who is willing to die for Likatonia deserves the respect of our government THEREFORE, THE SENATE AFFIRMS THAT: 1. The requirement 21.2.5 of the Likatonian Armed Forces that any candidate application who discloses himself or herself as "homosexual" will be disqualified is hereby repealed. The Likatonian Armed Forces are banned from inquiring on matters of sexual orientation. 2. Any current soldier or future soldier, or individual, within the Likatonian Armed Forces may announce themselves as a homosexual and will be respected as such. Failure to observe this basic quality will result in disciplinary action on offenders not less than 6 months of suspension and docked pay. Multiple offenses on this account may result in termination. 3. The requirement 104.2.1 that all frontline personnel are to be male is hereby repealed in its entirety. The Likatonian Armed Forces are banned from disqualifying a candidate's application to a frontline position based on gender. 4. The Likatonian Armed Forces will create a Equal Opportunity Office to properly implement these changes within 6 months of the legislation's passage through the Senate. The EOO will also be responsible for investigating possible offenses and disciplining. The EOO will prepare annual reports for the Minister of Defense. |
