Bill: OOC: Previous Candidate Titles
Details
Submitted by[?]: Nationalist Party of Kanjor
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4011
Description[?]:
This passing of this bill will change the requirements/restrictions of candidate/party member names. As most governments today, titles held previously to being elected in the government are not used. Examples of this are Dr. Woodrow Wilson who, when president, did not use his title of doctor but only his title of Mr. President. Another example of this is Dr. Angela Merkel, who only goes by the name Chancellor Merkel, as the title of Dr. is not used. Also, since this is a French-based Nation, French government title rules should be used. This brings us to Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, who is a Former President of France. This man only went by the name President, when he received several other honorary titles. The titles he received include Grand-croix (and former Grand Master) of the Legion of Honor, Grand-croix (and former Grand Master) of the Ordre National du Mérite and Croix de guerre 1939–1945. Grand-Croix or Grand-Cross is a military title which non-presidents use casually, but presidents of France do not use because they have a higher position. Therefore, all future Presidents, Speakers and Ministers should not have Other titles in their name, as their current title is the one they are required to use by the Government. So, the passing of this bill (as it is an OOC cultural bill) will make all parties required to only have the name of their candidate, with no other titles such as 'Lord', 'Duke', 'Lady', 'Dr', 'Professor', 'Sir' etc. After debating, it has been decided that it will be allowed that all members of high positions MAY state their titles at the end of their name: eg. John Smith, PhD. or John Smith, Duke. And that in the cabinet titles are used normally. The passing of this bill contradicts a previously passed bill, so the passing of this bill will also repeal the changes made by this bill: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=468019 |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
