Message | As stated in the Expansion Act, the MLP wishes to call for early elections. Currently, only 100 of the 450 Parliamentary seats (22.2%) are full. At the current rate, the next election would take place in two years, which is almost certainly too long a time to go with such a small Parliament relative to its actual size. |

Message | The MLP misunderstands the situation. The seats are 100 until the next election. However, if you still want an election, we have no problem with it. |

Message | At least give time to prepare for the massive increase in funds funneled into the government with the new number of seats. |

Message | (Don't worry about the funds, we won't be running a deficit, we channelled the funds from the military :D) |
Date | 07:47:12, May 24, 2005 CET | From | Lodamun Centre-Left Coalition | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | Ah, I see. Regardless, why not put to use our new found 350 seats? |
Date | 20:45:25, May 24, 2005 CET | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | ( Because they aren't newfound until the next election anyway, so your reasoning is based on something that comes about only if this wins. *lol* ) |
Date | 21:53:30, May 24, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | The title of this bill probably needs to be changed, unless we're planning to invite the electorate to vote 12 months retrospectively. |
Date | 21:54:46, May 24, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | An early election might get us a chance to reduce Fascist influence, so the CCF will support this. We also take this opportunity to announce that we are not running a presidential candidate, in the hopes that our next presidential run-off will feature an Amystian Coluncil candidate versus a leftist candidate. |
Date | 07:37:48, May 25, 2005 CET | From | Lodamun Centre-Left Coalition | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | We urge the Council to reconsider, as we think the Fascists should not wield as much power as they currently do. |
Date | 07:54:04, May 25, 2005 CET | From | Lodamun Centre-Left Coalition | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | We also hope Albert Party and the MLTP votes in favour. |
Date | 09:32:55, May 25, 2005 CET | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | There is no guarantee that elections would shift seat percentages significantly at all, and there is even a chance for the NFL's seats to increase. They are hardly using their power at the moment, and a regular election is only a year away anyway. |
Date | 10:36:51, May 25, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Early Election Act, June 2056 |
Message | We regret, very much, our inability to support this bill, given the current circumstances. So far, the current administration has seen approval of : Anti-Ageism Discrimination III Representative Expansion Act And these three are in the pipeline: Rapula Referendum Process Foreign investment law International Sustainable Industries Scheme Regardless of the number, or proportion, of seats which happen to be occupied by members of the Albert Party, we believe this administration has proved to be very effective in dealing with key policy issues. We cannot agree with early closure of a parliament which has such a record. We do not see that more, or fewer seats, for Albert after the next election will have any fundamental impact on either our activity or our agenda. The aim of both is to achieve consensus on issues relevant to protecting and improving the lives of people in Lodamun and people around the world. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
